SciReader is a paper reader with a built-in AI assistant, and a reference manager.
Ask a paper questions, and trace every answer to the sentence it came from. Follow its citations, and keep it in your library.
Available for macOS and Windows — free and offline, no account needed
Drop in PDFs, and SciReader fills in the title, authors, venue, year, and citation count. Organize papers in nested collections.
Click a citation to see the full reference, then add it to your library. The reference list marks what you’ve added.
Type a question, highlight a passage, or snip a figure, table, or equation to ask about it.
Hover a marker to read the original sentence. Click it, and the PDF jumps there and highlights it.
Select a phrase you don’t follow, and it’s explained right there. Keep asking in a side chat, instead of scrolling up and down the main conversation.
The assistant reads them whenever a question calls for it. Hover a figure or table in the answer to preview it, or click to jump to it in the PDF.
Type @ to bring more papers from your library into the question, and ask about them together.
